Pony Sketch Dump

So yeahhh...
Pretty much all I've drawn for the last few months is ponies. I pretty much never finish my pictures, but I'm hoping to start finishing some. So I decided to go ahead and post this - this is the majority of all my finished/almost finished sketches. I may have one or two more floating around, but this is pretty much it. These aren't posted in any particular order, some are older than others, I'll describe each one, obviously they're numbered.

1.) So this first sketch is pretty old. It's from when I started really getting interested in the pony community and having my own characters. This is Sugar Cube, the first pony I really thought up myself; although she's not particularly original, as she is supposed to be part of the apple family (one of the many cousins or something of Apple Jack). I free handed this in my art class which is why the style isn't soooo great. You can also see faint letters through the page, she was drawn on the back of a work sheet ;D Despite the semi-lack of originality, I LOVE Sugar Cube! I hope to get more art of her soon!

2.) We haven't had internet at my dad's in a long time, so I spend a lot of time there drawing ponies. Drew this last week; my sister drew a pony version of herself, so this is my pony version of myself. I always wear my hair back and I always wear the same bow, so that's how I did my mane. I have freckles and my hair slighlty curls, so that's how I drew it too. I don't know if I'll finish this, I think it's super cute, but I can't decide on colours... I picture her as red with a black mane, but I don't really like that... cutie mark is a rainbow with a cloud on one end and a paintbrush on the other, was too lazy to draw the paintbrush though (this is my ponysona's cutie mark). Not my ponysona exactly, but close. Ponysona is lowerrr... Free handed.

3.) Super bored last week without internet, decided I wanted to try to make some ponies to sell as adoptables. I like themes, so I chose birds and got to work. This is the first one I've started, not done yet though. Alicorn princess, she is based off a swan. Can't get her mane to look fitting yet. Eventually I will finish her though. Not sure whether I'll sell for points or do a draw to adopt. I'd kind of prefer dta. She was the first of the set of three I drew. I have a cup with Celestia, Luna, and Caydence on it that I glanced at a couple of times for ideas, but overall this is free handed.

4.) The second bird themed pony I drew is this guy, the Peacock Prince. I really like how his design has come out. This crappy quality photo doesn't quite do the picture justice or really show the little details I've thrown in here and there. He's pretty much done, I just need to go back and finish up some little details... I like him enough that I don't want to sell him, but I don't really have use for a prince character. Maybe I'll keep, but we'll see... Free handed this dude, I'm pretty proud of his face (Haha, that sounds funny).

5.) The third and final bird pony I have completed at this point is this Prince Umbrella Cockatoo pony. I think I started with a couple of problems with him, but he's quickly grown on me. I feel like this sketch has a lot of personality, I'll be pretty sad to see him go too. His tail feathers are actually not attached, and the feather on his forehead is part of his bridle, not sure how I feel about that though. Free handed this dude, lovin' his legs.

6 & 7.) Remember the two ponies I adopted a month or so ago, Forest and Willow ? Well, after I was chosen, I sketched these out one night at my dad's house. I wanted to give them each individual pictures and write more about them, I just haven't gotten around to finishing them yet. I used a reference for Forest, but I free handed Willow. Willow looks super cute, but a little too baby-ish in this picture :/

8.) After I finished up those three adoptables (I did them over the course of a couple of nights) I was a little burnt out on kings and queens, so I just doodled out of boredom... and one thing led to another and I had this picture of Twilight Sparkle I really like how she came out, especially given that I was doodling and used no reference. I hope to finish this soon, I might try to animate it too. Done about a week ago.

9.) When I decided I wanted to start drawing ponies more, I felt the need to develop a mane cast of ponies! This is a much older sketch, one of my first free drawn ponies. This is Peroxide Princess, I really like her but haven't been able to decide on a colour scheme for her. Probably the first pony I drew free handed that looked nice. I'm having a hard time wanting to work with her because I don't know how to colour her, but I think she is pretty and has potential to be a neat character. Her cutie mark is a syringe with a rose coming out of the top. She's something like a rocker chick nurse...

10.) When I moved back in February, I was bored at my Mom's with no net. First night at the new house, I drew this. Random dude unicorn, free handed. If I finished him, his top half would be white, and his lower half light pink. His cutie mark would be a flower like a couple of tulips or a sakura or something. I first was trying to develop a character... but wasn't quite satisfied... so then I was going to make him an adoptable... but now that I've run across him again, I'm not really diggin' him, so I'm just going to let him go. Good practice for sure.

11.) Sooo once upon a time when I was little, I had a My Little Pony cd-rom The last time I played it I was in the 5th or 6th grade (that was between 2005 and 2006, maybe a little earlier), and I really liked the lat pony I had (you designed a pony, then sort of raised it). Back in the beginning of the year when I was trying to design a mane group, I thought it would be fun to resurrect her as one of the ponies. So this is Prima Donna, or my design of her. She is very vain. Kinda like rarity. Does something with fashion, super dramatic, blahblahblah I don't know where i'm going with her, but I plan to continue using her.

12.) Group picture! From left to right is Rocket, a Nameless pony, and Sugar Cube! The pony in the middle is one I was trying to draw to adopt, but school got busy and I couldn't finish in time If I finish this pic, I"ll go back and edit her into someone else, but I probably won't finish. Sugar Cube looks a little awkward in this picture I used a base, it was really good practice but I probably won't do anything more with it... and to throw this out there, I SHIP ROCKET AND SUGAR CUBE SO HARD. I don't really think I want them to be a couple, but I want to always draw couple art of them XD; I don't know if you can ship your own characters, but I think they would look cute if Rocket wasn't so in love with himself, and I already know what their babies would be named exceptthatwonteverhappenbuticanstilldaydream. Anyways... I put a heart beside Rocket because he is best pony.

13.) Last, but not least; my ponysona and first pony drawing, Spectrum! This is by far the oldest picture in this batch, I drew it spring of 2012! This is the first MLP FIM pic I ever drew. I sort of used a reference; I looked at my McDonald's key chain of Rarity for this one. Spectrum, as said, I imagine to be my ponysona. She is white with a rainbow main and tail, and her cutie mark is a rainbow with a paintbrush with a cloud on one end and a paintbrush on the other because I'm an artist. I never really finished this one, probably won't ever, but I really like how her mane and tail came out, I put a LOT of effort into it. For my first pony drawing, it came out beautifully. Dunno what colour her bow would be, but she's wearing one because I always do.
